Davis Dyslexia Correction® Program The purpose of the Davis Dyslexia Correction® Program is to help children and adults who experience difficulties with reading, writing, spelling, and problems commonly associated with ADD or ADHD. In this foundational program, the client gains a new understanding of their personal thinking and perceptual processes; acquires new self-help methods for optimal learning; and develops specific skills for eliminating confusions regarding language symbols. This is an individualized*, consecutive, 5-day, 30-hour intensive intervention. Significant improvement in at least one academic skill is guaranteed by the end of the 30 hours.
Persons evaluated at New Hope Learning Centers, Inc. for academic achievement often display multiple learning problems. In fact, according to the U.S. Department of Education, 56% of students with dyslexia also demonstrate poor mathematics achievement. Further, 43% of children diagnosed with Math Disorder, also have poor reading skills. In recognition of these facts, New Hope Learning Centers, Inc. provides the following additional programs and services:
Davis Math Mastery® Program The Davis Math Mastery® Program is designed specifically to address the underlying reasons for math learning problems. This is an individualized*, consecutive, 5-day, 30-hour intensive intervention in which fundamental math concepts, definitions, and attention skills are mastered using the Davis Symbol Mastery® Procedures. It is normally recommended for students who do not experience reading difficulties, but rather experience problems with arithmetic skills that may manifest themselves in early education or with the introduction of multiplication, long division, or algebra. Throughout the week, confusion regarding numbers, arithmetic operations, place value, fractions, decimals, word problems, and math applications are addressed. The Program is available in two formats. One format is designed to follow the Davis Dyslexia Correction® Program for those who experience difficulties both in reading/language skills and in math. The second format is designed for those who experience difficulty in math only.
Attention Deficit Disorder/Math Program An advanced, individualized*, educational program in which persistent symptoms of ADD/ADHD are addressed and corrected in addition to arithmetic skills. This program is recommended for clients who have completed the Davis Dyslexia Correction® Program for reading, spelling, and writing, but who need additional work in the areas of attention/focus and math.
